Hello Northlea Families,
Last night saw our school transformed into the Greatest Carnival on Earth featuring the “Northlea Midway”, incredible “Dream Room”, “Canada 150 Hallway”, always popular Photo Booth, refreshing Snow Cones, and too many other fantastic activities and treats to list! The excitement was undeniable, and smiles and laughter were everywhere!
Talent at Northlea is INCREDIBLE, as anyone who visited the Student Art Exhibition in the Canada 150 Hallway certainly knows! The atmosphere in the “Dream Room” was delightfully provided by none other than our very own students showcasing their musical, acrobatic and other talents. This entertainment was a lovely compliment to the constant flow of kids and adults alike circling the highly coveted Raffle Baskets and other donated prizes which were all beautifully displayed and truly “Dream” worthy.
Just a few highlights of the many other awesome activities include: Claude Lukawesky’s colourful hosting of the “Pie Eating Contest”, all the carnival games in the “Northlea Midway” and classrooms, spellbinding magic shows, truly Canadian 3-on-3 mini sticks games and “Nerf Hockey”, as well as the interactive “Teddy Bear Surgery”. Traditionals like face painting, nails, and fish pond were popular as ever, as were the Candy Shoppe and the Button making.
A very special thank you to Principal Ehrlich, Vice-Principal Wadden, Teachers, the many volunteers, Class Parents, members of the Admin team, Office & Custodial staff, our generous FFN sponsors (check them out: here) donors, anyone and everyone who either helped to set-up or stayed to clean-up, and especially our fabulous FFN Committee Members; Kara Kane, Heidi Bajcar, Laura Weir, Heidi Girvan, Laura Bailey, Anna De Maio, Christina Snelson, Teresa Bayley, Amy White, Sue Pribaz, Laura Addington, Robin Masters, Tina Moreau, Karen Thorne, Sharon Krieger, Rachel Chernos Lin, Rubiena Duarte, Jodie Wolkoff, Jennifer Adziovsky, Alexis De Castro, Arti Panday, Monika Scholte, Claude Lukawesky, Colin Bryan, Cameron Haynes, Frank Chang and Wilmar Kortleever (apologies to anyone we may have forgotten to mention).
The best part of Family Fun Night (FFN) remains the heartwarming portrait of kids spending quality time together with their family and friends, while experiencing fun classroom games and activities, or volunteering their time to make it all happen. Those are the moments that make FFN so magical and our school amazing! The perk is that it also raises a lot of money, and those funds will truly make a difference in the lives of Northlea children. We hope as many of you as possible will come out to vote at our spring Home and School Meeting when monies raised will be allocated.
