Registration is NOW OPEN for our ‘Marvelous Arts Mania’ March Break Camp at Glenview Presbyterian Church: 1 Glenview Ave (Yonge and Lawrence).

Come with your artistic hat on! Participate in drama, dance and visual arts classes while having an awesome time with your friends! Let the energetic, fun and highly qualified Arts Express staff fill your days with activities that will engage and inspire the imagination!

March Break: March 12th-16th, 2012 Ages 3-8: Half Day (9:00am-12:00pm), $45/day Ages 5-10: Full day (9:00am-4:00pm), $75/day

Creativity marks Door Decorating Contest

More than 25 Classroom Doors were fabulously decorated on February 14th in honour of Northlea’s 2nd Annual Door Decorating Contest.

To show our Love for the Earth, all decorations were produced from recycled products, leading to superb creativity.

An impartial jury – including Principal Ribeiro and Vice-Principal Little – judged the creations, and awarded podium positions for each of the three Divisions (Primary JK-3; Junior 4-6; Intermediate 7/8). The results will be posted here shortly.

Request for proposals for allocation of 2011/12 funds raised

Home and School are now asking for funding proposals from the entire School community.

The deadline for submissions is March 1st, and all qualifying proposals will be voted on by paid up Home and School members at the March 22nd Home and School Meeting, at 6:45pm in the School Library.

Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week February 13 – 17

Northlea celebrated the Staff and Teacher Appreciation week for 2012 by delivering daily treats and notes of appreciation to staff members at the school. There was also a Scavenger Hunt with challenges and questions for each staff member to participate in, with prizes for winners of each division.

Flowers were delivered to the office and warm bagels and cream cheese will be delivered to the staff room on Friday morning, the PA Day.

Special thanks go to Julie Brown for organising and delivering the daily surprises, and Lisa Howarth for the scavenger hunt prizes as displayed in the display case outside the school office, and the flower arrangements.
