Safe Arrival
Northlea’s Safe Arrival Program is organized and staffed by Northlea Home & School Council volunteers to ensure the safety of our children.
If your child is going to be absent or late, please call Safe Arrival at 416-396-3775
The Safe Arrival voice mail system is available 24 hours a day to take your message. Please call before 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. for a same-day absence or late arrival. Remember that messages left for a busy teacher may not get transferred to our Safe Arrival volunteers.
Safe Arrival volunteers must follow up on every student who is absent. If no message has been left for Safe Arrival, then the volunteer will first call the teacher and then the parents. If we are unable to establish the location of your child, our volunteer will call the contacts you identify on the Index Card. Should the school be unable to determine a missing child’s whereabouts the police will be notified to assist.
Carefully check the information on your child’s personal
“Index Card” (8 ½ X 11” computer print-out), change any incorrect information directly on this sheet of paper and return to the school.
Throughout the year, please notify the School Office should any contact information change.
It is vitally important that you provide numbers where you can be reached – including cell phones or pagers – and that you include numbers for someone who may know where your child is.
